Why Uvita is a Whale Watching Paradise

Uvita is uniquely positioned along the South Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, where southern humpback whales arrive each year after traveling thousands of kilometers from Antarctica. This incredible migration begins in July, when these gentle giants reach the warm, shallow waters of the Parque Nacional Marino Ballena to mate, give birth, and nurse their calves.

The warm ocean temperatures, calm seas, and protected coastline of Uvita provide the perfect sanctuary for newborn whales to grow strong before returning to colder southern waters in October. During this time, visitors can witness stunning whale behaviors such as breaching, tail slapping, pectoral fin waving, and the heartwarming sight of mothers with calves.

    CANCELLATION POLICY

    1. GENERAL

    Sirazul Ltda. (Freediving Uvita) is committed to providing exceptional service in a timely manner. Unfortunately, when a customer cancels without giving enough notice, it prevents another customer from being served. No shows and late cancellation have an impact on service quality while punishing customers who may show up earlier. For these reasons, Sirazul Ltda. (Freediving Uvita) has implemented a cancellation policy that will be strictly observed.

    2. FULL PAYMENT

    Your reservation is confirmed when the 50% of the full price has been transferred online (Paypal, bank transfer, Stripe). Final payment can be done online or in person.

    We do not reserve booking without payment.

    An online confirmation message will be sent to you at the time of registration and payment.

    3. CANCELLATION REQUEST

    Cancellation requests may be submitted by phone, email or online. Please note that refunds will be processed in cash or online. If you have any questions or concerns about our cancellation policy, please contact us at ‭+506 6368-1783‬.

    4. REFUND POLICY

    • Refund requests made more than 10 business days prior to the booking dates are subject to an administration fee of 10% percent of the full price.

    • Refund requests made more than 2 business days prior to the booking dates are subject to a 50% percent of the full price.

    • No refunds or transfers will be issued less than 48 hours prior to the booking dates.
